Marie Hardin Street

Marie Hardin Street, 88, a longtime Memphis resident, died at home on February 28, 2010. She was born in Marmaduke, Ark., the daughter of Hollie Roy Hardin and Nannie May McNiel and graduated from Rector High School in 1939.

A 1942 graduate of the University of Tennessee Nursing School, she served as a nurse in the U.S. Army during World War II. She was a retired nurse from Methodist Hospital and a member of the Getwell Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, David Elton Street.

She is survived by her son, David E. Street Jr. and daughter-in-law Angela Molis-Street of League City, Texas; daughter Judith Conley of Memphis; grandchildren Tanitha Moncier and her husband Brent Moncier of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and James Conley of Memphis, and great-grandson Jared Moncier.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 4, and services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, March 5, at Memphis Funeral Home Poplar Chapel.

Memorial donations may be made to the Spiritual Sword Media at Getwell Church of Christ or the Memphis School of Preaching.

A loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Marie will be missed.
