Marie Chadwick Wayland, now of Mountain Home, collected several poems she has been writing for many years into the compilation "Come Walk With Me."
"This book came about from the nagging of my daughter wanting me to check dark, dusty corners for my poems," Wayland said. "This book of poetry is a dream come true. It may just be the beginning, I hope."
"Come Walk With Me" was published in February and was available for purchase through Amazon.com and other online booksellers.
Wayland describes her book as "A journey through life. Poems with memories of yesterday and the reality of today and hopes for tomorrow, written where everyone can understand."
"Come Walk With Me" also features the poem "From a Paw of the Cat" written for the Rector Blackcats.
Wayland held a book signing at Hastings in Mountain Home on May 16.
Wayland is a 1960 graduate of Rector High School. She and her husband Earl are retired. They have three children and four grandchildren. She has many family members and old friends who make their home in Clay County.
