Conflict forces cancellation for Russ Taff

After multiple Grammy winner Russ Taff performed at last year's first Rector High School Helping Hands Foundation benefit concert, he immediately told organizers he wanted to return again this year.

He had a great time, he said, and he wanted to continue to help the many temporarily disadvantaged students who benefit from the Foundation's work.

So Taff was scheduled for this year's concert and he had long looked forward to his return here. But organizers learned this week that, due to circumstances beyond his control, Taff has had to cancel. He was sorely disappointed and has told Foundation co-founder Bill Carter he intends to be here for many future benefit concerts -- to help the children and to again greet the Rector folks who showed him such warmth and kindness during his visit here last year.

Because of the change in the concert program, the Foundation is offering a refund to ticket purchasers who wish one. Refunds will be given only through July 20. Requests should be made to the Foundation office, 610 South Main Street, Rector, AR, or by calling (870) 595-3501. There will be no refunds given after that date and no refunds will be given at the door.
