2009, after a courageous fight with cancer.
Joyce was born on May 5, 1935, in Clay County to the late Charles and
Cora (Caldwell) Faught. She was a lady with many interests. She
attended the Oak Hill Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff and belonged to
the VFW, the Red Hats Club, the Cattleman's Association, the Modern
Woodman and worked as the Director of the Brad Senior Citizens in
Rector.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands,
Opie Ward, and William Sparks, and three sisters, Alice Skillingstad,
Lillie Carlton and Violet Victory.
Joyce is survived by her best friend and companion, Jim Finnell; four
sons, Stanley Ward of Washington, Richard Ward of Colorado, Jeff Ward
of Washington and Greg Ward of Colorado; four daughters, Sherry Priest
of Washington, Teresa Meyers of Rector, Lorie Fry of Thayer, Mo.,
and Samantha Nixon of Kennett; four step-sons: Glenn Sparks and Scott
Sparks of California and Josh Finnell of Pollard and Timothy Finnell
of Cooter, Mo.; two step-daughters, Tracy Finnell of Clarkton,
Mo., and Laurie Rumner of Half Moon, Ark.; 28 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one brother, Charles Faught of
Rector; two sisters, Jerlene Fowler of Rector and Glenda Fields of
Paragould, a half brother, Johnie Mock Crosno, along with a host of
other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were Saturday, June 20, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. at the
Irby Funeral Home in Rector with Brother Marston Carpenter
officiating.
Visitation was Friday at 6:00 p.m. Interment was at the
Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector.
