The event is open to children in Pre-K (preschool completed) through fifth grade and will include exciting classes, demonstrations and hands-on activities, including:
* A visit from emergency management teams (Air Evac, ambulance service, police department, fire department, DARE, K-9 Unit, rescue squad and more.)
* Unique classes like Chemistry Magic, construction projects (building bird houses), Martial Arts, Bonnie the Balloon Lady, Mobile Aquarium from the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, Nascar Simulator, Insect Informants, Elrod the Magician, Pet Safety, Solar System, Scrapbook with pictures from the week, Spirit Ridge, National Guard Rock Wall, CPR Rap, Nutrition, Electrical Safety, Germ Glow and more.
"We have three groups of 25 kids," said organizer Jacinda Welch. "Each group will get to spend about one hour with each presenter (different ones daily). Students will get to attend ALL classes scheduled for the day.
* Breakfast and a snack (example: Turner Dairy ice cream, Tropical Snow, chips and fruit) are provided each day. Each class has several helpers and a presenter and hall help and extra help outside also are provide. Parents must sign children in and out each day.
* Participants also have a bag they keep all week and any presenter information will be given out and put in the bags. Students also earn Kids College Bucks for good behavior all week. On Thursday afternoon they get to spend their bucks on special gifts and fun items to take home.
A quick breakfast will be offered from 7:30 to 7:55 a.m. Classes will begin at 8 a.m., and parents should pick up their children promptly at 12:30 p.m.
The cost if $45 per child. A second child in the same family may attend for $40. The deadline to register is Thursday, June 18. Class sizes are limited to 25 students, so early registration is encouraged. Payment must be by cash or check. Checks may be made payable to BRTC?GCITC.
Due to the large number of applicants, the program does not accept mailed or emailed documents and will not reserve spots over the phone.
"You may download the three-page registration packet at www.greenecountyitc.org, www.neaitc.org or physically come to the BRTC in Paragould or the NEAITC to pick one up," said Welch. "Only complete registration forms that are paid in full and physically brought to the BRTC Paragould or Rector NEA Innovative Training Center will be accepted."
