"We've had some bad breaks as far as the weather goes," Cougar skipper Nate Henderson said. "We've not been able to play as much recently as we would like, but that's just how it goes sometimes."
Hoping to avoid any rust, Henderson has had his squad practicing indoors and in the batting cage.
"We're doing all we can. Whether that's just throwing and working on signs, or working on our swings in the cage, we're doing our best to stay sharp and be ready to play."
Currently, the squad is gearing up for a game with Marmaduke at 3:30 p.m. Thursday in Rector before heading to Paragould for a 3:30 p.m. start in the annual Duel on the Diamond tournament. Rector will also play in the tourney Saturday, with the starting time dependent upon Friday's outcome.
