Rector native Paul Frets is shown at work recently in his Radford, Va., studio, where he completed a painting of the late Moses Knight to be auctioned Aug. 31 in a fundraiser for the Rector High School Helping Hands Foundation. All of Northeast Arkansas will for the first time have a chance to see Frets' amazing work when the Foundation sponsors an exhibit of his paintings Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Aug. 28, 29 and 30, at a Main Street building in Rector converted to a gallery by Foundation president Sherland Hamilton. Frets is Professor Emeritus of Art at Radford University, where he taught for many years. His works have been exhibited throughout the U.S. and have been acquired by museums and galleries, as well as by public, corporate and private collections. The Rector exhibit will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each of the three days.

Wow, thank you for that wonderful story. It is very meaningful to read stories from the community of my ancestors.
