Maxine (Poochie) Griffin

Maxine (Poochie) Griffin, 74, died Wednesday, July 23, 2008, at her home surrounded by her loved ones.

She was born Nov. 25, 1933, to the late Hurtis and Edith (Church) Brewer. She was a piece worker at Bussman Fuse Plant for many years and an avid flea marketer.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband,

Leslie Griffin; three brothers, Cecil Brewer, Bill Brewer and Grover

Brewer, and two sisters, Earline (Dean) Massey and Katherin Walley.

She was survived by two sons, Ricky Griffin and wife Michelle of Cahokia, Ill., and Bobby Griffin of Williamsville, Mo.; three daughters, Judy Schrum of Florrisant, Mo., Joan (Mink) Heath of Fort Smith and Antonia (Toni) Becker and husband David of Williamsville, Mo.; one brother, Clifford Brewer of Florida; one sister, Johnny Faye Brewer; 18 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren, along with a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 26, at Irby Funeral Home in Marmaduke with Bro. Gary Morris officiating. Interment was in Providence Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations go to Providence Cemetery.
