Born June 12, 1932, in Campbell, Mo., to Ninnie Jewel Bateman Irby and the late Ralph Irby, she was a retired telephone operator and bookkeeper for Dobbs Equipment. She was a graduate of Rector High School and a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Sallisaw.
Mrs. Dobbs was active in the 4-H programs and the former leader of the McKey 4-H Club. She was the recipient of the Volunteer of the Year award. She was active in her church, where she played the organ and piano when she attended McKey Baptist and Immanuel Baptist. She also served as church secretery at Immanuel Baptist Church for Rev. John Ewart.
Also preceding her in death was her husband, Orville Harold Dobbs.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Jo Alice Dobbs of McKey, Okla.; one daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Kyle Holt of McKey; five grandchildren, Adyson, Adam and Ali Holt and Ashlyn and Mason Dobbs; her mother, Ninnie Irby of Sallisaw; one brother and sister-in-law, Devaun and Dorothy Irby of St. Louis, Mo.; one nephew, Gary Irby; one niece, Gail DiSilvester; two great-nieces, Laura and Sarah, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 1, at Immanuel Baptist Church with Rev. Shawn Caldwell officiating. Burial was in Sallisaw City Cemetery with Agent Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were her nephews. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Mary Martha Sunday School Class at Immanuel Baptist Church in Sallisaw.
