In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Nathan Dowdy.
He was a factory worker and was a member of Providence Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Willodean Dukes of the home; one son, Robert Allen Dukes of Arlington, Tenn.; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Denene and Ernie McCowley of Marmaduke, Michelle Jackson of Paragould and Lori and Marcus Dowdy of Paragould; three brothers, J.H. Dukes of Mer Rouge, La., Paul Dukes of Tallulah, La., and Joe Dukes of Lake Providence, La., and eight grandchildren, Steven Hale, Mallory Hale, Andrew Dukes, Megan Dukes, Lauren Dukes, Michael Pasion, Hannah Dowdy and Colton Dowdy.
Funeral services were at 3 p.m. Monday, June 16, at Irby Chapel in Marmaduke with Bro. Gary Morris officiating. Burial was in Providence Cemetery. Irby Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Bryan Smith, Larry Massey, Dean Rollins, Bill Rhinehart, Kenny Pugh and Mike Holloway.
