She was born April 21, 1917, in Rector to the late William Finis Shannon and Ettie Gertrue (Shockley) Shannon.

She was a homemaker, a member of the First United Methodist Church and a member of E.H.C.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Edward Ray Morris in 1989; two brothers, Tommy Shannon and Omer Shannon, and five sisters, Ruthie and Gracie Shannon, Pearl Storey, Lula Vinson and Esther Perrin.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 23, at Irby Funeral Home Chapel in Rector with Rev. Roger Armstrong officiating. Burial was in Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector with Irby Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Jim Hayes, Mike Vinson, Keith Manning, Dennis Layer, Jim Shannon and Joe Pruett.
