Jesse C. Speer

Jesse C. Speer, 87, of Rose City, Mich., formerly of Rector, died Sunday, Nov. 18, 2007, at Bortz Health Care in Rose City.

Born Dec. 19, 1918, in Rector to the late Mr. and Mrs. John Speer, he was a member of VFW Post 6068 of Rose City and a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and sports.

Also preceding him in death was a grandson, Gary Jay Speer, and one granddaughter, Krystal Lee Speer.

Survivors include his wife, Daisy of Rose City; children, Gary (Vicki) Speer of Freeland, Mich., Linda (Joseph) Juras of Prudenville, Mich., Jessie (Ray) Otto of Wisconsin, Fred (Darlene) Speer of Colorado Springs, Colo., Michael (Diana) Speer of Saginaw, Mich., Ronnie Speer and Brenda Mills of Rector; three sisters, Freeda Everett, Berniece Wooten and Louise Thompson, all of Rector; two brothers, Cecil Speer of Kansas City, Mo., and John Speer Jr. of Louiston, Mich., eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2007, at Stauermol and McLaren Funeral Home in Rose City with Rev. Donald Wojewski officiating. Burial was in Big Creek Township Cemetery in Luzerne, Mich.
