Kathey Ann Wheat, 56, of Rector died Thursday, March 6, 2008, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.

She was born April 9, 1951, in Rector to Rachel Marie Warren Clayton and the late Noah Oliver Clayton. She was married to Larry Wheat on Sept. 30, 1967.

Also preceding her in death were two brothers, Jerry and Bill Clayton, and one sister, Ellen Clayton.

Survivors include her husband, Larry Wheat of Senath, Mo.; her mother, Rachel Clayton of Marmaduke; two sons, Chad Wheat and wife Charlotte of Paragould and Eric Wheat and wife Stephanie of Marmaduke; four brothers, Darrell Clayton and wife Bonnie of Lafe, Randy Clayton of Marmaduke, George Clayton and wife Paula of Paragould and David Clayton and wife Jewell of Rector; five sisters, Barbara Carpenter and husband Marston of Rector, Linda Travis and husband Stanton of Paragould, Mary Raseberry and husband Larry of Fort Worth, Texas, Peggy Sutherland and husband Danny of Rector and Lesa Taylor and husband Jeff of Atokia, Tenn., seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Friday, March 7, at the First General Baptist Church in Rector with Rev. Josh Carpenter officiating. Burial was in Woodland Heights Cemetery with McDaniel Funeral Service of Kennett in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Todd Sutherland, Dan Sutherland, Kevin Travis, Brett Clayton, Isac Sellers and Jimmy Sweaney Jr. Honorary pallbearer was George Green.
