Mary Vangilder

Mary Vangilder, 73, of Marmaduke, died Wednesday, March 5, 2008, at her home.

Born Sept. 19, 1934, in Monette to the late Marion and Bertha Allison, she was an employee of Dollar General in Paragould and a member of First Baptist Church in Marmaduke.

Also preceding her in death were three brothers, Walter, Bill and Bobby Allison; one sister, Cora Francis Owens, and one grandson, Derick Smith.

Survivors include her husband, Jim Vangilder of Marmaduke; five sons, Dewayne Merriman of Flippin, Leonard Merriman and Kenny Merriman, both of Jonesboro, Doyne Vangilder of Marmaduke and Carey Vangilder of Paragould; four daughters, Linda Qualls of Morris Chapel, Tenn., Vicki Braden of Pollard, Susie Ford of Paragould and Lanie Vangilder of Birmingham, Ala.; two sisters, Eva Marie Sears of Clarksville and Audra Robinson of Arkadelphia, 20 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 8, at Marmaduke First Baptist Church with Kim Bridges officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Grove Cemetery with Mitchell Funeral Home of Paragould in charge of arrangements.
