Violet Garnetta Smith, 85, of Marmaduke died Monday, March 3, 2008, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould.

Born Feb. 20, 1923, in East Prarie, Mo., to the late Mr. and Mrs. Benford Vincent, she was in the grocery store business and a member of White Oak Church.

She also was preceded in death by one daughter, Shala Marlene Smith, and one brother, Fred Lee Crum.

Survivors include her husband, D.C. Smith of the home; one son, Keith Smith of Marmaduke, and one brother, Larry Vincent of Mountain Home.

Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Friday, March 7, at Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel in Rector with Bro. Marston Carpenter officiating. Burial was in Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector with Mitchell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Kevin Reddick, Barry Reddick, Chris Brady, Richie Brady, Mike Rios and Andrew Rios.
