She was born Dec. 1, 1917, in Rector to the late John and Janie Tyler and was a faithful Christian all her life. She was married Dec. 1, 1937, to Rev. Henry E. Duffel, with whom she shared 42 years. After Rev. Duffel's death, she married Truman Landrum, adding four step-children to her family. Mr. Landrum also preceded her in death.
She also was preceded in death by one son, Charles Duffel; three grandchildren, Bradley Duffel, Kelly Duffel and Kristie McConnell; three brothers, Corbett and J.W. Tyler and Cecil Shelton, and two sisters, Thelma McCloud and Viva Cox.
Survivors include one daughter, Jayne Calvin and husband Jack of Rector; two sons, John Duffel and wife Carol of Jonesboro and Gary Duffel and wife Alicia of Paragould; one daughter-in-law, Juanita Duffel of Barnhart, Mo.; 12 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, at the First General Baptist Church in Rector with Bro. Marston Carpenter officiating. Burial was in Woodland Heights Cemetery with Mitchell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Sonny Brown, Lowell McKinney, Ron Benson, Randy Rogers, Clovis DeMent and Jerry Horton.
