She was born April 3, 1930, in Kennett, Mo., to Joe and Sarah Ella (Brown) Smith and was married in 1954 to Bill Hampton. The Hamptons moved in 1964 to Michigan, where she worked for Michigan Bell Telephone until her retirement in 1986 with 27 years of service.
She was a member of Calvary Assembly of God and later Lowell Assembly of God.
She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Lisa Morrell, her parents and five siblings.
She is survived by her husband, Bill; children, David (Shelley) Hampton, Glenn Hampton, Steve Hampton, Marilyn (Jim) Acker and Theresa Smith; grandchildren, Joe Hampton, Monica Hampton, Sarah (Derek) Kilpatrick, Melissa Richard, Chad Richard and Cassie Hampton; great-grandchildren, Nova, Stephanie, Olivia, Jayden and Caden, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be at 12 noon Friday, Feb. 29, at the Heath Colonial Chapel in Paragould with Rev. Kim Bridges officiating. Interment will follow at Greene County Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
