Born Dec. 12, 1922, in Mo-Ark to the late Orbon and Mary (Hinkle) Glasgow, he was a farmer and cattleman most of his life and of the Baptist faith.
He also was preceded in death by his first wife of 53 years, Sarah Alice (Smith) Glasgow; step-mother, Emeline (Hinkle) Glasgow; five brothers, Johnny, Earl, Jack, George and Dick Glasgow, and two sisters, Mary Viola Glasgow and Imogene (Glasgow) Dees.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy (Dottie) Carr Glasgow; two daughters and sons-in-law, Patti and Mike Harwell of Paragould and Darlene and Gary Cupp of Walcott; two step-sons and a daughter-in-law, Paul and Theresa Nedelman of Paragould and Sandy Nedelman of Paragould; one brother, Ira Glasgow; four sisters, Mildred Duke, Earlene Duke, Doloris Curtwright and Charlene Putnam; seven grandchildren, Jimmy and Leane Parrish of Marmaduke, Burt and Nicole Lee of Lafe, Michael and Julie Harwell of Paragould, Amie and Greg Griffin of Paragould, Brian and Cheli Brinkley of Paragould, Jennifer (Petty) and Steven Phillips of Walcott and Kim and Judd Smith of Olive Branch, Miss.; six grandchildren, Nicky and Shelia Cupp, Chad and Nickie Cupp, Kirk and Ashley Cupp, Diedre Nedelman, Chelsey Roberts and Justin Roberts, 21 great-grandchildren, Jessica, Laura and Kara Lee, Ethan, Abigail and MaKenna Harwell, Parker and Tyler Brown, Megan White, Jacob Wray, Madeline and Kyle Smith, Aaliyah Brinkley, Arielle and Asher Griffin, Jacob Petty and Katelyn Phillips and Austin, Madison, Breanna and Garrett Cupp, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, at Irby Funeral Home. Burial was in Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector with Irby Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Charlie Hampton, Randy Stanfill, Elvis Cornelison, David Stanfill, Clifton Carter and Jarred Glasgow. Honorary pallbearers were Aaron Morris, Raymond Hood, R.L. Hill, Max Redwine, Dale Cornelison, Doyne Simpson, Jimmy Vangilder and Gary Neil Priest.
