Irene Thomas Brashear, 92, of Rector died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008, at the Senath (Mo.) Nursing Home.

She was born Jan. 26, 1916, to the late Robert and Hettie Jackson in Greene County.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey "Slim" Brashear; a brother, Robert Jackson, and two sisters, Juanita Gibb and Laverne Bland.

She is survived by her son and his wife, James and Betty Kennedy of Harlingen, Texas; two sisters, Guinda Jackson Mills and Conoy Gibbs, and two grandchildren, Denise and Brad Dunlevy of Houston, Texas, and Crystal Harrold of Fort Worth, Texas.

Funeral services were at 10 a.m. today (Wednesday, Feb. 20) at the Irby Funeral Home Chapel in Rector with Rev. Marston Carpenter officiating. Interment was in Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector.
