Grover Baker
Grover Baker, 74, of Pollard, died Monday, Feb. 11, 2008, at the Piggott Community Hospital.

He was born Dec. 3, 1933, in Pollard, and was the son of the late Grover Cleveland and Lula Watson Baker.

He was united in marriage to Winona Hale on Oct. 14, 1953.

Baker was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church in Pollard, a member of the Eastern Star Masonic Lodge /3207 and a dual member of Piggott Masonic Lodge #545 and he was a 32nd-degree Mason.

He is survived by his wife, Winona Baker of Pollard; four sons, Brion Baker of Salem, Ark., Steve Baker of Pollard, Cleve Baker of Paragould and Greg Baker of Columbia, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; five sisters, and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Feb. 14, 2008, in the Hoggard & Sons Chapel with Charles Carrens officiating. Burial followed in New Hope Cemetery. Pallbearers were Mark Morgan, Cary Wilson, Wayne Smith, Wade Smart, Marty Conley, Dave Harrison, Gaylon Burkman and Gary Dunlap. Honorary pallbearers were Charles Morrisett, Gary Howell, Gary Conley, Gaylon Lawrence, Bill Allen, Marion Brown, Rick Culver and Robert Earl Welty. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott was in charge of the arrangements.
