James Ray Gardner, 79, of Jonesboro died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008, at his home.

He was born March 12, 1928, to the late Luther and Vergie Myrick Gardner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Lavern Gardner.

He was the pastor at Christian Life Fellowship Church.

Survivors include his wife, Amy Hass Gardner of the home; a son, Tim Gardner; two grandsons, Kyle Gardner of Walnut Ridge and Drew Gardner of Nashville, Tenn.; a brother, Junior Gardner of Rector, and a sister, Gloyce Dills of Rector.

A celebration of his life was held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, at Heath Colonial Chapel. Burial followed at Harvey's Chapel Cemetery.
