She was born March 12, 1923, in Rector to the late William and Cordie Thrasher Rogers and grew up here. She had worked in sales at a department store and was a member of the West Side General Baptist Church in St. Ann, Mo.
She was married to Carl Sheffield on Sept. 18, 1943, and they spent 64 years together.
Also preceding her in death were brothers Clyde, Hershel, Franklin and Logan and sisters Neva, Lucille and Louise.
Survivors include her husband, Carl, of the home; daughter, Bonnie Noel and husband Larry of St. Charles, Mo.; sons, Denver and fiance Connie of Springfield, Ill., Bruce and wife Donna of Maryland Heights, Mo., and Dan and wife Linda Sheffield of Houston, Texas; brothers, Donald, Buster, Herman and Therman; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, at West Side General Baptist Church in St. Ann with Rev. James Hamlet officiating. Burial was in Valhalla Cemetery with Alexander Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
