Almarita Sanders, 82, formerly of Rector, died Sunday, Nov. 18, at Greene Acres Nursing Home in Paragould.

She was born Aug. 12, 1925, in Marmaduke to the late Bill and Sylvia (Heskett)

Howell. She also was preceded in death by three sisters, Jewell Martin, Beulah Young and Irene Holifield; a grandson, Craig Darter, and her husband, Hershel Sanders, on Oct. 18, 2006.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Del and Bonnie Williams of Arnold, Mo.; a daughter and son-in-law, Gilbretta and Carol Darter of Paragould; three stepsons and their wives, Bill and Linda Sanders of Rector, Monty and Cathy Sanders of Piggott and Tony and Mary Sanders of Rector; two step-daughters and their husbands, Judy and Dewayne Williams of Blytheville and Betty and Verlin Drope of Flint, Mich.; a brother, Hershel Howell of Cahokia, Ill.; four sisters, Voneta Martin of Hamilton, Ala., Gracie Case of Paragould, Reba Joyce Griggs of Campbell, Mo., and Brenda Barnes of Dallas, Texas; four grandchildren, 11 step-grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, 17 step-great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, at the Irby Funeral Home Chapel in Rector with Bro. Marston Carpenter officiating. Interment was in Woodland Heights Cemetery. Pallbearers were Randy Williams, Lee Longhibler, Parker Williams, Jim Martin, Bill Martin and Tony Case. Honorary pallbearers were Dane Cunningham, Phillip

Myers, Rob McClung, Winston Hollis and Marty Martin.
