Born Sept. 17, 1920, in Lawrence County to the late Charles B. and Olive Townsend Maltbie, she was a member of the First Baptist Church, VFW Auxiliary, Retired Teachers Association, Clay County Friends, Extension Homemakers Club and was a member of the WMU.
She was married to Claude Gore Sr. He preceded her in death in August of 1988.
Also preceding her in death were two brothers, Herbert and Willard Maltbie, and two sisters, Esther Maltbie and Leota DeLuryea.
Survivors include two sons, Claude Gore, Jr. and wife, Anita, of Wappapello, Mo., and Charles Marvin Gore and wife Carolyn of St. Jacob, Ill.; a daughter, Camellia Hall and husband Keith of Jonesboro; six grandchildren, Pamela Jean and husband Tony Heaton of Wappapello, Claude Henry Gore III and wife Wendi of Wappapello, David Hall of Paragould, Douglas Hall and wife Erin of Sherwood, Christopher Gore and wife Monica of Oak Creek, Wisc., and Cheryl Sheaffer and husband Seth of Collinsville, Ill.; nine great-grandchildren, Logan, Mark, Kathleen, Dawn, Casey, Michael, Shelby, Madison and Morgan; a sister, Patsy Speer of Healy, Alaska; a brother, Tom Maltbie of Marmaduke; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6, at Irby Funeral Home Chapel with Mark Martin and Mike Holifleld officiating. Burial was in Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector with Irby Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Tony Heaton, Casey Heaton, Logan Gore, Jerry LeGrande, Claude Gore III and Christopoher Gore.
