Clifton Odell York Sr., 62, of Rector died Friday, Sept. 7, 2007, at his home.

Mr. York was born Aug. 12, 1945, in Logan County, Ky., to the late James Odell York and Mary Estes (Hood) York. He was a farmer and of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia York of Rector; two sons, Clifton York Jr. of Hot Springs and William Benton York of Hughes; four daughters, Sherry Renee York of Nashville, Vicky Elaine York of Fairview, Tenn., Mary Irene Sanders of Rector and Jennifer Lynn Berry of Marmaduke; one brother, James Willie York Sr. of Rector, 12 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, George Benton York, Herman Lee York and John Thomas York, and two sisters, Sarah Elizabeth York and Estas May York.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, at the Irby Funeral Home Chapel in Rector with Futrell Butler and Lonnie Hood officiating. Burial was in New Liberty Cemetery near Marmaduke.
