She was born Dec. 13, 1918, in Rector to the late Alfred and Grace Elsass. She married Carl Bullock in 1945, and they spent most of their 45 years together in Northeast Arkansas and Little Rock.
After working for many years for the State of Arkansas Employment Security Division, Mrs. Bullock retired in the 1980s. She moved into the Good Shepherd Ecumenical Retirement Center in the 1990s. In March 2006, she moved to Mississippi to be near her son.
Mrs. Bullock was a loving person, and that love extended to her family, friends and neighbors; her church; her flower garden, and the hummingbirds and cardinals she fed from her yard and later from her balcony at Good Shepherd. She liked to laugh and thoroughly enjoyed life.
She ushered at the Arkansas Repertory Theatre, and she was a regular player in the Geyer Springs United Methodist Dinner Theatre. She was an avid amateur photographer and baked the world's best chocolate chess pie.
Preceded in death by her husband, Carl Bullock, she is survived by two sons, Mark Bullock of Horn Lake, Miss., and Mike (Cathy) Bullock of North Logan, Utah; two grandchildren, Todd and Chelsea Bullock of Horn Lake; one sister and brother-in-law, Mary Jo and Bill Pruett of Florissant, Mo., and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8, at Griffin Leggett Forest Hills, 10200 Hwy. 5 North, Alexander, with Pastor Jim Brooks of Lakeview United Methodist Church in Pine Bluff officiating. Interment was at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
