Virginia Faye Dowdy Jones

Virginia Faye Dowdy Jones, 72, of Rector, died Wednesday, July, 25, 2007.

Born Sept. 1, 1934, in Indiana to the late Woodrow Wilson and Thelia Ozbun Newton, she was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ.

Also preceding her in death were her first husband, T.J. Dowdy; her second husband, Clifton Jones, and two brothers, Jim and Robert Newton.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Sherri Lyn and Jack Boles of Marble Falls, Ark., and Peggy and James Myres of Rector; four brothers, Darrell Newton of Richmond, Ind., Bill Newton of Satsuma, Ala., Buster Newton of Fountain City, Ind., and Thomas Newton of Mt. Washington, Ky.; three sisters, Shelby Ray, Norma Hyre and Anna Maye Anderson, all of Gallatin, Tenn.; seven grandchildren, T.J. Joiner, Ginny Joiner, Jack Boles III, Emily Nottingham, Stephanie Jackson, Heather Myres and T.J. Myres, and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 28, at Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel in Rector with Ken Roden officiating. Burial was in Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector with Mitchell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Jack Boles, James Myres, Brian Linam, Bill Benson, David Romine and Todd Ford.
