Lawrence Junior Miller, 83, of Hazelwood, Mo., formerly of Rector, died Wednesday, June 20, 2007, at his home.

Born Dec. 21, 1923, in Rector to the late Lawrence F. Miller and Georgia Fisk Miller, he was a tool and die maker.

Also preceding him in death was a son, Lawrence F. Miller III.

He is survived by his best friend and mother of his childen, Nina Faye Miller; one son, Dennis Miller of O'Fallon, Mo.; one daughter, Dale Lee McCormick of Post Falls, Idaho; two brothers, Ted Miller of St. Louis and Jimmy Miller of Salem, Mo.; four sisters, Julia Ramsey of St. Louis, Margie Fish of St. Louis, Francis Elliott of Rector and Marcell Rainey of St. Louis; four grandchildren, Jennifer Whitman, Kristin Vaughn, Kelly Vaughn and Tommy Miller, and one great-grandchild, Connor Whitman.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 23, at Irby Funeral Home in Rector with Rev. Don Slatton officiating. Burial was in Woodland Heights Cemetery with Irby Funeral Home of Rector in charge of arrangements.
