Glenda Lucille Rutledge, 76, of Rector, died Monday, June 11, 2007, at her residence.

She was born March 8, 1931, in Peach Orchard to the late Charlie and Eve Vallance.

Also preceding her in death were her husband, Earl Rutledge Sr.; a grandson, Andrew Corniel, and a granddaughter, Kai Lei Rutledge.

Survivors include four sons, Jimmy Smithee and wife, Susan, of Ada, Okla., Ronald Smithe of Grand Forks, N.D., and Richard Smithee and Earle Rutledge Jr., both of Rockford, Ill.; a daughter and her husband, Brenda and Jack Scott of Rector; a brother, Gary Vallance of Rockford; two sisters, Wanda Davis of Pocahontas and Nita Turner of Peach Orchard; 20 grandchildren, and several great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m Friday, June 15, 2007, at Irby Funeral Home Chapel in Rector with Bro. Marston Carpenter officiating. Burial was in Woodland Heights Cemetery with Irby Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
