Lenora Geraldean (Gordon) Rowlett, 83, of Rector died Sunday, May 20, 2007, in Palos Verdes Estates, Calif.

Mrs. Rowlett was born March 14, 1924, in Rector. She married Carl Edward Rowlett, also of Rector, on Jan. 10, 1945. He preceded her in death Nov. 1, 1993.

The Rowletts returned to Rector after retirement from St. Louis, Mo., and became active in the VFW and VFW Auxiliary. After suffering numerous strokes, Mrs. Rowlett enjoyed her final years in California, where she was known as "Miss Lenora" by her dear friends and family.

She is survived by three daughters, Deauronda Dean Harmon of Denver, Colo., Yuvonnia Jane Abernathy of Palos Verdes Estates, and Carletta Jean Vaughan of St. Louis, seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

A graveside service and interment were at Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector.

Mitchell Funeral Home of Rector was in charge of arrangements.
