Wilma Frances Stokes

Wilma Frances Stokes, 74, of Mountain View, a native of Rector, died Thursday, May 24, 2007, in Mountain View.

She was born Jan. 11, 1933, in Rector to the late Alonzo Orbin and and Wilma Bertie (Ratledge) Stahl. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, George, Gerald, Olan, Orville and Irvin "Doc" Stahl.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, a wife, homemaker, mother and grandmother.

Survivors include her husband, Denzel, who, in 1981, served as pastor of the United Methodist Churches at Piggott and Blue Cane; a son, David Stokes and wife Suzanne of Keller, Texas; a daughter, Debby Nesbitt and husband Jim of Mountain View; five grandchildren, Stacy Woody, Cindy Chrisman, Jeff Nesbitt, Margaret Stokes and Kristin Stokes; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Nova Holt of Braymer, Mo.; one brother-in-law, Denver Stokes of Desloge, Mo.; sisters-in-law, Wanda Stahl of Jonesboro, Mary Glore of St. Louis and Nela Stahl of Rector, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 29, at the First United Methodist Church in Mountain View with Bro. Steve Johnson, Bro. Earl Carter and Bro. Anthony Shipman officiating. Burial was in Mountain View Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Shane McElroy, Tim Wilson, Mark Rector, Gary Don Condrey, Bob Carr and Gary McClung. Honorary pallbearers were George "Sonny" Stahl, Jack Woods, Glenn Morehart, Charles Kramer and Aubrey Mitcherson.

Roller Coffman Crouch Funeral Homes of Mountain View were in charge of arrangements.
