R.W. Williams, 86, of Piggott, formerly of Rector, died Thursday, May 17, 2007, at Piggott Community Hospital.

Mr. Williams was an Army veteran who just recently received his Purple Heart. He was a General Baptist minister and a retired welder.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Luella (Hoil) Williams; four brothers, Roy, Ben, Granville and Henry Williams; four sisters, Reba Smith, Dora Watson, Ruth Stevens and Wilma Shelton, and one grandson, Craig.

He is survived by a son, Del W. (Bonnie) Williams of Arnold, Mo.; one daughter, Gilbretta (Gil) and husband Carol Darter of Paragould; three grandchildren, Randy, Kelli and Terri, six great-grandchildren and one brother, Wheeler Williams.

Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. May 17 at Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector with Bro. David Floyd officiating. Irby Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
