LeRoy R. DeLuryea

LeRoy R. DeLuryea, 87, died Sunday, May 6, 2007, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould. He was born Feb. 9, 1920, in Poplar Bluff, Mo.

He was a member of New Life Family Church and also was a past master Mason and an Eastern Star member. He enjoyed being a square dance caller and instructor with the Hooker Switch Square Dance Club. He was a retired machinist from Martin Sprocket and Gear and also a retired real estate broker.

He is survived by his wife, Anna "Bea" DeLuryea of the home; a son and his wife, Johnny and Nancy Deluryea of Rector; two daughters and their husbands, Laveda and Danny Barnhart and Anna and Ricky Lynch of Marmaduke; a sister, Opal Charles of Dallas, Texas; granddaughter Jamie Bennett of Marmaduke and her husband Edward Bennett in Iraq and granddaughter Kia Stacy of Branson, Mo., and grandsons Eric Lynch of Malden, Mo., and Christopher and Zackery Lynch of Sikeston, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Harley and Cora DeLuryea; two sisters, Hermina Collier and Martha DeLuryea, and two grandsons, Robert and John DeLuryea.

Funeral services were at 10 a.m. today (Wednesday, May 9) at the Heath Colonial Chapel in Paragould with Rev. Gary Holcomb and Rev. Jerry Loyd officiating. Burial followed at Harvey's Chapel Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Ed Rounds, Mike Prince, Jeremy Wyatt, Lavohn Lewallen, Winston Hollis and Tom Wellman. Alternate pallbearer was Tony Gargus.

Memorials may be made to the New Life Family Church.
