Marlis Cyphrine Eddy, 78, of Rector died Sunday, May 6, 2007, at Kennett, Mo.

Born Aug. 17, 1928, in Rector to the late Fred and Viola (Meredith) Jackson, she was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.

She also was preceded in death by her husband, David Eugene "Gene" Eddy, on June 5, 1993; one son, Billy Eddy, on Aug. 14, 1971, and one brother, G.T. Jackson, in 1989.

Survivors include two sons, Donnie E. Eddy of Marine, Ill., and Roger Eddy of Warrensburg, Mo.; one daughter, Sheila Sweetwood of Rector; one brother, Larry Jackson of Illinois; four sisters, Louise Henson of Indiana, Joyce Jackson of Illinois, Linda Gibson of Tennessee and Mary Streeval of Paragould; eight grandchildren, Bill Sweetwood, David Eddy, Chris Eddy, Donnie Eddy, April Prusa, Kyle Eddy, Cole Eddy and Chad Eddy, and 11 great-grandchildren, Lauren Sweetwood, Brittany Sweetwood, Belinda Estes, Brooke Eddy, April Wolfe, Amber Wolfe, Payton Eddy, Joshua Prusa, Tyler Prusa, Alexis Marie Laster and Terance William Tertan.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 10, at Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector with Irby Funeral Home of Rector in charge of arrangements. The family will receive visitors from 12 noon to 1:45 p.m. that day.
