Born March 14, 1914, in Island, Ky., to the late Clark and Ada Vinson, she was retired from Caterpillar Inc. and of the Pentecostal faith.
She also was preceded in death by her husband, Ira Highley; three daughters, Virginia Dickerson, Pearly Mae Highley and Betty Jene Highley; four sisters, Aletha Rouse, Milidean Dodd, Verna Graves and Daisy Reynolds; one son-in-law, John Barker, and one great-great-grandchild.
Survivors include two sons, Charles C. Highley of Corning and Ira Jr. and wife Carol Highley of Delaware; one daughter, Mary Wilma Barker of Corning; daughter-in-law, Joyce Highley of St. Louis; one son-in-law, Jim Dickerson; several grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 2, and again from 12 noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 3, at Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel in Rector.
The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday at Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel with Chris Dickson officiating. Burial will be in Purcell Cemetery near Rector with Mitchell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
