Cassie Martin, 82, of Rector died Thursday, Feb. 22, 2007, at NEA Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Born Oct. 8, 1924, in Brookland to the late Benjamin Wilbur Cox and Bessie Mae Wilson Cox, she was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Rector.

Also preceding her in death were two brothers, Buster Cox and Tom Cox.

Survivors include one son, William E. Martin of Rector; two daughters, Ann Martin of Rector and Phyllis Harden of Pine Bluff; two brothers, Wilson Cox of North Carolina and Kenneth Cox of Sikeston, Mo.; one sister, Von Dell Dawson of Salisbury, Md., nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, at Irby Funeral Home Chapel in Rector. Burial was in Woodland Heights Cemetery with Irby Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Isaac Linam, Jonathan Martin, Vaughn Harden, Howard Ray Spicer, Jeremy Linam and Mervin Hernandez.
