Nora Rippy

Nora Rippy, 98, formerly of Marmaduke, died Saturday, Feb. 3, 2007, at Paragould Nursing Home.

She was born Jan. 4, 1909, in Greene County to the late George and Bertha (Rutledge) Moore. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Loatie Dan Rippy; three brothers, Cleatis, Willie and Reedy, and five sisters, Cora, Vinnie, Viola, Dalley and Ruthie.

She worked as a diet maid and was of the Church of Christ faith.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, James and Wanda Rippy of Hanford, Calif., and Doyle and Wanda Rippy of Marmaduke; one daughter and son-in-law, Verneda and Herbert Phillips of Paragould; one brother, James Moore of Bakersfield, Calif., and one sister, Lorene Armstrong of Wynne, nine grandchildren, Jim Bob Lentz, Kaylene Brinkley, Steve Rippy, Belinda Rippy, Michael Rippy, Frankie, Lori, Karen and Joanie, 17 great-grandchildren and numerous great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday, Feb. 7) at Irby Funeral Home in Marmaduke with Scotty Hickson and Randy Brinkley officiating. Burial will be in Harvey's Chapel Cemetery near Marmaduke with Irby Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Jim Bob Lentz, Steve Rippy, Michel Lentz, Herbert Phillips, Berlie Phillips and Kirk Brinkley.
