He was born Aug. 8, 1943, in White Oak to the late Clarence Jones and Earline McGue Jones. He was a lifelong member of the community, a farmer and a member of White Oak General Baptist Church.
Also preceding him in death were two sisters, Mary Ellen Johnson and Stella Smotherman.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Mary Jones of the home; one son, Scottie Jones of Rector, and two sisters, Lou Wanda Carter of Marmaduke and Linda Flint of Kennett.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. today (Wednesday, Jan. 31) at White Oak General Baptist Church with Rev. Sam Book and Rev. Anthony Dowdy officiating. Burial was in Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector with Faith Funeral Service of Manila in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Eddie Williams, Earl Parrish, Don Parrish, Perry Whitaker, Neil Stallings and Chad Agee. Honorary pallbearers were Clifton Carter and Burrell Rogers.
