He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Mae Farmer; two brothers, Bill and Frank Farmer, and one grandson, Braxton Stokes.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Robert Stokes of Rector; four grandchildren, Cheyenne, Robert Jr., Schylar and Richard; three brothers, Charles Farmer of Marmaduke, Donald Farmer of Viola, and John Farmer of Salem; two sisters, Mildred Giddings of Bloomington, Ill., and Margie Parton of Salem, and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday, Jan. 3) in the Hoggard & Sons Chapel at Piggott with Shelly Elkins officiating. Burial will be in Harvey's Chapel Cemetery near Marmaduke.
Pallbearers will be Joshua Stokes, Jerry Stokes, Jerry Midkiff, Bobby Parkus, Roger Forbes and Jimmy Eaton. Honorary pallbearer will be grandson Robert Stokes Jr. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott is in charge of arrangements.
