He was born Sept. 18, 1924, in Crockett to the late John Henry and Ina Bell (Branson) Easterwood. He served his country in the Army from March 7, 1945, to Dec. 8, 1946. He was a farmer and was of the Assembly of God faith.
He was married from March 17, 1951, to July 19, 1954, to Martha Louise Temple. He was married Jan. 3, 1981, to Connie Bell Fields, who died Jan. 7, 2005.
Survivors include his son, Kenneth Easterwood of Marshfield, Mo.; one sister, Helen Sterling of St. Louis; two grandchildren, Sherri DeeAnn of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., and Kenneth Delayne of Fayetteville, and three great-grandchildren, Darren, K.J. and Candice.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Lloyd T. Easterwood, and one sister, Opal Thomas.
Visitation was from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 23, at the Irby Funeral Home Chapel in Piggott. Graveside services were at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 23, at Cummings Chapel Cemetery in Pollard with the Rev. Bill Newman officiating.
