Ava Gordon, 82, of Rector died Monday, Dec. 25, 2006, at her home.

She was born July 26, 1924, in Clay County to the late Fred Cullen and Rozella Sexton. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Allan Gordon, in 1996, and a brother, R.B. Cullen. She was a homemaker and a member of the Rector First Baptist Church.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Phillip and Denise Gordon, of the home; one sister, Lorene Duncan of Piggott; two step-granddaughters, Krystal Polk of Rector and Jodi Wood, and four step-great-grandchildren, Lauren and Katy Polk and Fisher and Aly Wood.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 28, at the Rector First Baptist Church with Bro. Michael Polk officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector with Irby Funeral Home of Rector in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Don Kirklin, Scott Kirklin, Dale Vangilder, Danny Holifield, Byron Duncan and Shane Wood.
