Mary Estella Payne, 92, of Rector, died Thursday, Nov. 30, 2006, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Born June 16, 1914, in Essex, Mo., to the late Malinda and Doc K. Butler, she was a cook/waitress and a member of the First General Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, James W. Payne of Roscommon, Mich., and Leonard Payne of Bellevue, Neb.; one sister, Susie Alexandria of St. Louis; four granchildren, eight great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, at Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel in Rector with Bro. Marston Carpenter officiating. Burial was in Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector with Mitchell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
