Gwendolyn Bucy, 83, of Rector died Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2006, at her home.

She was born July 15, 1923, in Greenway to the late Fred Dixon Jowell and Flossie Alcorn Jowell. She also was preceded in death by her first husband, Everett Bucy, on Dec. 26, 2000, her second husband, Matthew Hauck, on Feb. 10, 2005, and a grandson, Jason Bucy.

She was a homemaker and was a member of the Fifth and Pine Church of Christ.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Fred and Linda Bucy of Rector; two daughters and sons-in-law, Andrea and John Conner of Newport and Diane and David Freeman of Rector; one brother, Kenneth Jowell of San Francisco, Calif.; six grandchildren, William Hayes Jr., Holly Patterson, Scott Bucy, Shawn Bucy, Colin Earls and Rachel Earls, and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 29, at the Fifth and Pine Church of Christ with Bro. Ken Roden officiating. Burial was in Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector. Irby Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Todd Ford, Bill Hayes, Bill Benson, Dale Vangilder, Bobby Tracer, Byron Underwood and Steven Sigsby.
