The daughter of the late Cynthia Nettles and Charlie Williams, she was born Aug. 18, 1923, in Clay County and was married Jan. 12, 1945, to Raymond Whitehorn, who preceded her in death March 1, 1995.
She also was preceded in death by a son, Billy Ray Whitehorn, in November 1995; three brothers, Eldoyce Reaves, Vern Green and Paul Max Hardin, and two sisters, Vera Bracken and Sue Payne.
She was a homemaker and a member of Mars Hill Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Dewain and Pauletta Whitehorn of Byron, Ill., and Garry and Becky Whitehorn of Byhalia, Miss.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Marsha and Earl Shelton of Pearcy and Charlotte and Bill Killian of Paragould; three sisters, Tommy Penney, Irene Snyder of Rector and Corine Eagle of Rector, nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 22, at Mars Hill Cemetery with Bro. Joe Thompson officiating.
Pallbearers were grandsons Leslie Whitehorn, Garry Dewain Whitehorn, Billy Raymond Whitehorn, Kevin Reaves, Derrick Reaves, Todd Rees and Scott West.
