Hison "Buddy" Boswell

Hison "Buddy" Boswell, 75, of Marmaduke died Monday, Aug. 14, 2006, at his home.

Born June 3, 1931, in Blytheville to the late Oliver Boswell and Tina McBride Minick, he was a member of Pine Hill Full Gospel Church. He was retired from Atlas Asphalt and, according to his family, one of his favorite pastimes was "playing with his gravel truck and backhoe."

He was married Dec. 16, 1950, to Barbara Jean Bosell, who survives.

Other survivors are two sons and daughters-in-law, Terry and Mary Boswell and Jeff and Tina Boswell, all of Marmaduke; one daughter and son-in-law, Kathie and Jimmy Martin of Marmaduke; a brother, Troy Boswell of Tennessee; two half-brothers, Hershel Minick and Charles Minick of Tennessee; a sister, Viola Bogan of Paragould; four half-sisters, Wanda Leach, Linda Davis, Mary Brown and Sherrion Minick of Tennessee; a host of step-brothers and step-sisters, 11 grandchildren, Teresa Parrish, Donnie Clayton, Stacy Potter, Tracy Clayton, Spencer Boswell, Angela Weatherford, T.J. Boswell, Steven Boswell, Joseph Boswell, Andrew Boswell and Margaret Nicely, 15 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were at 10 a.m. today (Wednesday, Aug. 16) at Irby Funeral Chapel in Marmaduke with Donnie Clayton, Trumann Wycoff, Doyle Householder and Bill Nunally officiating. Burial was in Providence Cemetery with Irby Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Jerry Wallace, Don Wallace, Bruce Wallace, Don Clayton, Dewayne Potter and Spencer Boswell. Honorary pallbearers were Glen Page and Johnny Nations.
