Doyle Wayne Presson, 74, of Rector, died Sunday, Aug. 13, 2006, in Jonesboro.

He was born March 23, 1932, in Mounds, to the late Jesse G. and Elsie Presson.

He was a farmer and a member of Rector First General Baptist Church.

Also preceding him in death were seven brothers, Loy, Willie, Leon, Arlon, Durward, Leo and Donald Presson, and one sister, Neoma Presson.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Ozena Presson of the home; two sons, Earl and Linita Presson of Huntsville, Ala., and David and Debbie Presson of Paragould; two daughters, Diana Presson and Nancy and Shane Holcomb, all of Rector; three sisters, Mary Smith of Hornlake, Miss., Wanda Blalock of Maryland Heights, Mo., and Oleda Ford of Jonesboro; nine grandchildren, Amber, Travis and Cristy Presson, Bryce and Whitney Conley, Tara Rigdon, Cody Holcomb, Jo Beth Shown and Wendy Campbell, and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 15, at Rector First General Baptist Church with Bro. Marston Carpenter and Bro. Paul Seay officiating. Burial was in Woodland Heights Cemetery with Mitchell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Rick Smith, Roger Little, Jody Simmons, Randy Mills, Bobby Tracer and Brian Linam. Honorary pallbearers were Bob Little, Dale Smith, Roger Duty, Kenny Green, J.G. Dooley and Reuben Seay.
