Col. Gray was born March 17, 1927. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arch and Inez Gray; his wife, Joan Twitty Gray, and son, Pat B. Gray II.
He is survived by his son, Gary and wife Arlene of LaVernia, Texas; one daughter, LeeAnn, of Warner Robins, Ga.; one sister, Carolyn Johnson of White Bear Lake, Minn.; nephew, Leland Blackshare of Rector, and cousin, Rosie Akers of Rector.
He graduated from College-High School in Bartlesville, Okla., in 1944 and entered the U.S. Navy for two years. He later graduated from the University of Kansas at Lawrence in 1951 and entered the Air Force.
Post graduation education included the Naval School of Hospital Administration, Bethesda, Md., and several short courses and seminars sponsored by the American Hospital Association.
Col. Gray had over 30 years of active military service. His highest decoration was the Legion of Merit with one Oak Leaf cluster.
Funeral services were Friday, June 9, with burial in the National Cemetery at Fort Sam Houston, Texas. Funeral arrangements were by Sunset Memorial Park and Funeral Home of San Antonio.
