James Harold Lankford, age 65, of Searcy, a native of Rector, died Saturday, June 3, 2006.

He was born Nov. 13, 1940, in Rector to James Howard and Ivalene Vangilder Lankford. He was retired from the United States Navy. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Glenda Faye Sullivan, and one niece, Kristi Sullivan Small.

He is survived by his wife, Sonja, of Searcy; one son, Michael Lankford and his wife, Susan, of Moore, Okla.; two sisters, Geraldine (Deanie) Wagster and her husband, Jim, of Searcy and Janice Pruett and her husband, Joey, of Rector; one step-sister, Sharon Turnbo of Rector; two grandchildren, Jannah Coe and Mitchell Lankford of Moore, Okla., along with a host of nieces and nephews, family and friends.
