Leonard Brummet

Leonard Brummet, 87, of Rector, died Tuesday, March 14, 2006, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Born Jan. 7, 1919, in Marmaduke to the late Walter Brummet and Annie (Damron) Brummet, he was a farmer, a member of Cappadocia General Baptist Church and a lifelong member of this community. He was married Oct. 12, 1940, to Gerline Weber. He also was preceded in death by one son, Stanley Brummet, on March 15, 2004.

Survivors include his wife, Gerline Brummet of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Billy and Linda Brummet of Germantown, Tenn., and Sammy and Millie Brummet of Eades, Tenn.; one daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Randy Harmon of White House, Tenn.; seven grandchildren, Kevin, Kim, Samantha, Sonya, Brandy, Lee and Leslie; six great-grandchildren, Gary, John, Jacob, Zachary, Katie and Jackson, and one great-great-grandchild, Haley.

Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Friday, March, 17, at Irby Funeral Home Chapel in Rector with Bro. Ronnie Stevens officiating. Burial was in Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector with Irby Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Aaron Speer, Michael Vowell, Chad Agee, Don Parrish, Chris Weens, Robert Martin, W.O. Layer and Ronnie Crews.
