Lindol Burns, 71, of Tampa, Fla., a native of Boydsville and formerly of Flint, Mich., died Saturday, March 4, 2006.

Mr. Burns was born Jan. 23, 1935, in Boydsville to the late Blanche and Tolbert Burns. He also was preceded in death by a daughter, Darlene Gillmore. He retired from Chevrolet Manufacturing and loved raising horses when he was younger.

Survivors include his wife, Norma; children, Rick Burns, Diane Williams, Deborah Dawes and friend Mark Weiss, David and wife Beth Pruett, David and wife Trecia Burns, Donna and husband David Milazzo, Paula and husband Jerry Borg, Karen and husband Don Sanderson; a brother, Bobby Joe and wife Marsha Burns, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 7, and will continue from 2 to 8 p.m. today (Wednesday, March 8) at Reigle Funeral Home Sunset Chapel in Flushing, Mich. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 9, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery.
